CDMA Femtocell

Product Overview

CDMA Femtocell, AirvanaAirvana’s breakthrough product HubBub CDMA, is a small, inexpensive “personal” mobile access point, or femtocell access point.  When deployed in homes and offices, HubBub CDMA will allow subscribers to use their existing CDMA handsets – in-building – with significantly improved coverage and increased broadband wireless performance. Airvana’s HubBub CDMA uses the Internet protocol to deliver high-quality voice and multimedia services through broadband Internet connections such as DSL, cable, or fiber optic networks.  This IP-based architecture allows the HubBub CDMA to be deployed and managed in virtually any environment where there is broadband Internet service.

To ensure trusted security and reliable mobility, HubBub CDMA is interconnected via Airvana’s Universal Access Gateway (UAG).  As a robust security and mobility gateway, the UAG allows operators to deliver mobile voice and data services to subscribers over a combination of macro-mobile, Wi-Fi, and Femtocell networks. UAG is designed to handle large numbers of encrypted tunnels – such as those used to connect Femtocells – and is a critical anchor point for Airvana’s HubBub femtocell-based networks.

The HubBub CDMA facilitates continuous coverage and mobility in homes and offices, regardless of their proximity to a macro network. CDMA HubBub plugs directly into an existing broadband connection to extend 3G wireless CDMA services for voice and data applications.
