Where to buy Airvana HubBub™ Femtocells
Femtocells operate in licensed frequency spectrum, and therefore can only be offered by the mobile operator who holds the license to that spectrum within their particular region. Femtocells are specific to a mobile operator. Mobile operators are just beginning to offer 3G femtocell services.
Airvana has already announced contracts to supply its HubBub femtocells to KDDI in Japan and to Sprint and Mosaic Telecom in the United States. As of Spring 2010, they are not yet widely available to consumers. Please check these operators’ web sites for updates on commercial availability.
