Airvana to Address Impact of Femtocells on Independent Operating Carriers at the 2010 Wireless Symposium

Session addresses how femtocells, picocells and smart repeaters interoperate with fixed-line networks

Chelmsford, MA, January 13, 2010 —

Airvana, Inc. (NASDAQ: AIRV) today announced that Daniel Crews, director, CDMA Femtocell Product Management, will participate in the conference program at the 2010 Wireless Symposium, taking place January 13-15, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas.

On Thursday, January 14, 2010 from 2:45 - 3:45 p.m., Crews will participate in the panel session “Femtocells, Picocells and Smart Repeaters: Implications for IOCs.”  The discussion will center on the concept that these technologies are improving indoor cell reception and expanding the cellular footprint by offering consumers viable fixed-mobile options and asks the question, “Are these new technologies synergistic friends or competitive threats, and how do they interoperate with your fixed-line networks?”

Presented by the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association (NTCA) and the Rural Telecommunications Group (RTG), the 2010 Wireless Symposium is tailored to meet the specific needs of independent operators and rural market vendors from marketing strategies to financial planning and network operations.
