About Airvana LLC

Airvana LLC’s femtocell solutions dramatically improve the coverage, performance and capacity of 3G CDMA wireless networks. The company’s achievements include the delivery of the first 3G CDMA femtocell to be deployed commercially by mobile operators, the first IMS-based femtocell, and the first open femtocell management system.  Airvana is a founding member of the femtocell industry body, the Femto Forum, and has played an active role in the development of femtocell standards. The company is headquartered in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, USA.

Airvana was founded in 2000. In 2010 it was organized into Airvana Network Solutions, which focuses on macro radio access network infrastructure, and Airvana Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary that focuses on femtocells and small cell solutions.

Products
Airvana LLC dramatically improves voice coverage, data performance and capacity of 3G wireless networks through small base stations called femtocells.  The company’s product portfolio includes:

  • HubBub Femtocells. Airvana's HubBub CDMA provides simultaneous support for EV-DO Rev. A mobile broadband data and CDMA2000 1x voice, for up to six simultaneous users.
  • Femtocell Service Manager. The FSM is a TR-069 standards-based, scalable management and auto-configuration platform for HubBub™ and third-party femtocell deployments.

Customers
Airvana LLC supplies femtocells to KDDI in Japan and to Sprint in the United States.
